Lara Dutta, the well-known model and actress, who recently launched beauty and skincare brand Arias, is also going to mentor contestants who will take part in the 8th edition of Miss Diva competition. The winners of this competition will represent India in Miss Universe 2020.
Her role as a mentor…
Lara Dutta was crowned Miss Intercontinental in 1997, and Miss Universe in 2000. She has also starred in numerous Hindi films, and received a Filmfare award. She has been mentoring candidates for the past seven years.
In her pageant days, she faced numerous hurdles, which she spoke about in a TimesNow interview recently. When she won in the year 2000, India hadn’t won the crown in over 6 years, and she had felt that pressure during the competition. In her mentor role, she wishes to help candidates handle pressure better.
Lara recently launched Arias
She also runs a beauty and skincare brand called Arias, which she launched this year across Health & Glow stores.
She joins numerous other celebrities who have launched their own brand in recent times. Celeb-founders have the advantage of being able to market their products through their personal brand, an approach that has been successful both internationally and in India.
It will be interesting to see how Lara’s brand Arias shapes up in the increasingly saturated landscape of beauty and fashion in India.
