In this episode of The Boss Game, we talk to one of the famous Voice Over artists in India, Chetan Sasithal. He has done voice overs for Amitabh Bachchan, Bal Thackeray to cartoon characters like Baloo the Bear from Talespin, Jungle Book 2 and Genie from Aladdin.
Sasithal is based out of Mumbai and apart from doing voice overs for the movie industry, he also trains corporates and leaders from various political parties in voice modulation. He trained few speakers from Bharatiya Janata Party in terms of how they should represent and talk on television debates.
He even gave his voice for the character of Bal Thackery in the Marathi movie Balkadu. He decided to give his voice after a lot of pressure and also after they agreed to put his name under Actor in credits in the movie.
Interestingly he points out that he never does Voice Overs for actors until and unless he is apprised of a proper reason of the actor bailing out of the voice over process. He also says that he never mimics or plans to do voice over for Indian politicians for an commercial purpose whatsoever.
The idea of voice mimicry came to him pretty early in his life. During his college years,he won a lot of competitions around mimicry and voice overs. He even got reprimanded for voice mimicking his college professors. Over the next few years, he claims he was so good in voice overs, he was requested by people not to participate in competitions and rather be a judge.
Apart from voice mimicry, Sasithal is also a singer. Interestingly, he sang the title track of Abhishek Bachchan & Priyanka Chopra starrer Bluff Master called “Sabse Bada Rupaiya”. The song was originally sung by legendary comedian Mehmood in the 1976 film of the same name. But Chetan re did the title track for the new movie and is even mentioned in the credits under artists who have provided additional vocals.
